From 1 January 2009 first day marketing rules will apply which means that a Home Information Pack has to be available at the point of marketing and contain the following:

• a) Home Information Pack Index
  
• b) Energy Performance Certificate and Recommendation Report
  
• c) Energy Assessment
  
• d) Sale Statement
  
• e) Evidence of title for registered estates
  
• f) Official search of an index map for unregistered estates

The remaining documents required by Home Information Pack regulations such as the local and water authority searches must be supplied within 28 days from the first point of marketing.
