HIPs Introduction Delayed |
|
The Government has announced plans to delay the introduction of Home Information Packs until 1 August 2007 due to insufficient numbers of energy assessors who are required to complete an Energy Performance Certificate on a property before it can be placed on the market for sale.
Revised regulations will now be implemented just a few days prior to the planned introduction of HIPs which was set to take place on 1 June.
The new regulations will confirm that properties with 4 or more bedrooms being placed on the market after 1 August will require a HIP including the Energy Performance Certificate. Until 31 December, provided the HIP has been requested by the home owner, there will be no requirement for the full pack to be in place at the time the property is placed on the market.
HIPs for other properties will then be phased in following a review of the situation which is likely to take place later this summer.
At MacLachlan, we are already able to produce HIPs for sellers using the latest online systems. We have several options available for clients, including a deferred payment scheme. For more information please contact one of our property specialists.
