Roger qualified as a Solicitor in 1981. He was a Partner in a Midlands law firm before moving to Dorset. He joined MacLachlan in 2004. Roger undertakes property transactions of all types both commercial and residential and also deals with company and business matters. He specialises in Charity Law, an area in which he has practised since 1985.

Roger plays badminton and enjoys long walks; reads avidly and looks after his allotment. He is married with five children.
