Divorce & Family Law
Our Family Law department advises on all areas of family law and provides a sympathetic and sensitive approach to the issues faced during one of the most difficult and stressful times in one's life.
We are often asked questions such as:
- My wife and I have split up - can I get a divorce?
- If I do not want a divorce, what other options do I have?
- My husband and I are getting divorced what do I need to think about to safeguard the children?
- What are the financial implications of a separation? What immediate steps do I need to consider taking?
- My partner has been violent towards me/my child - what steps need to be taken to prevent it happening again?
- I am cohabiting and I want to separate from my partner, how do I resolve issues with the house and financial matters?
- I am in a civil partnership and the relationship has ended. What do I do?
The family team are able to provide advice in relation to divorce, financial matters including the issue of the family home and arrangements for the children, as well as cohabitation disputes and civil partnerships.
We are experienced in high net worth cases including those who have significant pension provision, as well as agricultural and business clients for whom the best advice at this time is essential. Tom Gawler, a Partner specialising in Agricultural Law is on hand to assist with those particular matters if required.
